Natina S. - New York

It was April 2016 when I was first informed by an OBGYN who was an endometriosis specialist that I potentially had "stage 4 endometriosis" not knowing what that meant and being told that I had to undergo surgery as soon as possible, was frightening. Within a months time I was scheduled and ready to be operated on. As my impending surgery date got closer I grew weary, scared, nervous and even had increased anxiety about the possibilities of being operated on and what that meant for my future of possibly being a new mom for the second time. Common sense…

Christine K - Huntington St. NY

My struggle with Stage 4 Endometriosis began April 2014. It was found on a CT scan that I had that was ordered through my Urologist after I was complaining of severe abdominal pain and urinary/bladder pain. The test picked up a mass that was encompassing my bladder, fallopian tubes, both ovaries and colon. I was advised to find a GYN surgeon to have the mass removed as soon as possible. I found a GYN near my home in Long Island that stated that he specialized in the removal of Endometriosis using Robotic Laparoscopic approach.  I was made to believe that…

Eve A, - Maryland

Being a physician myself, I sought out the best when I was diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis. It did not matter that Dr. Seckin was in New York, as I could not find a more skilled endometriosis specialist in Maryland.  He was very objective and honest when I had my first consultation. I felt confident in his skills and safe that I was in good hands because he was very passionate about this disease. In less than 8 weeks, I underwent surgical intervention for endometriosis with Dr. Seckin. Though I had severe disease, I was discharged from the hospital within…

Orue F - South Florida

I am 23-years-old and from South Florida. I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis after finding an endometrial (or chocolate) cyst in my ovary. I went on to have a cystectomy to remove the cyst and also had my endometriosis fulgurated (burning technique). I noticed right after the surgery that I did not feel any relief whatsoever. My doctor at the time instructed me to keep my birth control pills continuously to only get my menstruation every 3 months. This plan did not work for me, and my pains were intolerable. I suffered in silence for many years and thought…

Janisha's Story

It is a tribute to Dr. Seckin’s expert skill and care that my story and that of many of his patients share a common thread of hope and positivity. It is thanks to him that I understand the disease that afflicted me for most of my life and also thanks to him that I feel for the first time in a long time that I control my life and the disease, and not the other way around.   I want to share my experience with this disease for a few other reasons too. I am sure physical manifestations of endometriosis…

Cheryl's story

I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 26 after suffering for 12 years with problem periods. The hospital was a regular home for me every month and my quality of life was severely impaired. I had laparoscopic surgery and 2 laparotomies but still this dreaded disease returned. In June of 2011 after many monthly visits to the ER, I decided this has to stop and again started the search for medical help. My girlfriend called me and gave me Dr. Seckin’s contact details and told me she was referred to him and said that I should research him, as he…

Pat K., New Jersey

Dear Dr. Seckin:Please consider this as the most heartfelt and appreciative letter that I have ever written. When my daughter, son and I first came to your office one year ago in December of 2009, I was at my wits end. My daughter, Pam was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis 15 years before, had, subsequently, undergone four surgeries, and was in constant pain. Her life was miserable and, watching her struggle to do the mundane things broke my heart. Actually, I could easily write a book about all of the trials and tribulations that occured during those years.  We listened and…
