Nova's Endometriosis Removal Story

I am convinced there is no other doctor in the U.S. with the skill and expertise that Dr. Seckin has developed in deep and thorough removal of endometriosis.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis in April 2010.  I didn’t know it at the time, but this was the beginning of a four-year ordeal involving three abdominal surgeries, four hip surgeries, and a rare combination of medical specialties.  Three months after endometriosis was diagnosed, an orthopedic surgeon diagnosed me with a congenital condition of the hip joints that causes the cartilage that lines the joint (the labrum) to tears.  Successive arthroscopic surgeries were performed to repair, and then replace the cartilage, but only the right hip surgery was successful.  For some unknown reason, surgery on the left hip failed twice, due to hyper-inflammation that caused deterioration of the labrum from massive scarring. We did not know why. Desperate to find an answer, I then met with Dr. Marc J. Philippon, a world-renowned hip surgeon at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado for another medical opinion. Incredibly, he had just become aware of a rare, newly-discovered condition in which endometriosis creates scarring on the nerve that supplies the hip.  If this was true in my case, it could explain why the left hip surgeries kept failing. Inflammation from endometriosis could have interfered with the healing process of the hip. Dr. Philippon then referred me to Dr. Seckin in New York, one of the world’s top gynecological surgeons, and an expert in endometriosis. A third laparoscopic surgery was performed in March 2014 by Dr. Seckin, and we prayed for a miracle. Lo and behold, Dr. Seckin did find and remove 16-years accumulation of Endometriosis that had travelled to deep areas of the body, including the nerve that feeds the hip joint. He was able to find and remove endometriosis that two different doctors in two other surgeries had missed! I am convinced there is no other doctor in the U.S. with the skill and expertise that Dr. Seckin has developed in deep and thorough removal of endometriosis. Dr. Seckin performed nothing short of a miracle for me, allowing a subsequent third surgery on the left hip to be successful.

With our deepest gratitude, thank you, Dr. Seckin!

I am a physician who suffered from deep infiltrative endometriosis. I needed laparoscopic surgery, so I went to see my former gynaecologist and he performed the procedure (a surgery which he supposedly does hundreds of times a year) last November. I had severe pain again when I had my period in January and was advised to go on taking a…

After years of excessively painful periods, a serious loss of quality of life, and a series of uninformed and uninterested doctors, Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein turned my life around. I was told I woke up from my surgery almost a year ago with a smile on my face, and I haven't stopped since. Before I heard of Dr. Seckin,…

Dr. Seckin and his staff spared me from years and years of heavy periods and unbearable endometriosis pain. After having surgery with him (my first) I can now function like a regular human. No more eating NSAIDs like candy and calling out sick from work. Thank you, Dr. Seckin!
