Dr. Seckin performed my supracervical hysterectomy

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Seckin, who I initially went to see as a third opinion after having been misdiagnosed by my first doctor and after the second doctor recommended surgery.

As a bit of background, I am in my early 40s, work in finance for a large bank and quietly struggled with terrible side effects of adenomyosis (not easy to talk about openly in a male dominated organization) for two years before seeing Dr. Seckin.  And as I am writing this recommendation, it has been roughly 2 months since Dr. Seckin performed my supracervical hysterectomy.

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Seckin, who I initially went to see as a third opinion after having been misdiagnosed by my first doctor and after the second doctor recommended surgery.  Prior the meeting Dr. Seckin, I viewed my visit to him for a second opinion as a formality and had fully intended to move forward with the ‘second’ doctor, who is considered to be one of the leading gynecologic surgeons in the city.  But after meeting Dr. Seckin, I knew immediately that he was the doctor that I wanted to perform the surgery.

In my case, he spent a great deal of time and energy explaining to me exactly what the various options were for me, rather than a brusque ‘I am an expert surgeon and I know what to do’ attitude.  It was quickly evident that not only is he an expert surgeon and authority, but also a warm and sympathetic ‘caregiver’ in the true sense of the word.  Equally important to me, I came away from the first meeting knowing in my heart that he was not only a surgeon but also a perfectionist and aesthete and that I could trust him to operate on me with the best possible outcome, both internally and externally.  And that is exactly what he did.  I was able to return home the day of my surgery, returned to work the following week and was back exercising (I’m a SoulCycle fanatic!) two weeks to the day after surgery. And two months post-surgery, you can barely see the incisions. For all these reasons, I cannot recommend him more highly.

And on a final note, it is worth mentioning that team around him – doctor, nurses, and anesthesiologist – who helped Dr. Seckin perform my surgery at Lenox Hill were equally confidence inspiring and further evidence that I was in good hands with Dr. Seckin.  Not only is he the best, he surrounds himself with the best as well!

After years of excessively painful periods, a serious loss of quality of life, and a series of uninformed and uninterested doctors, Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein turned my life around. I was told I woke up from my surgery almost a year ago with a smile on my face, and I haven't stopped since. Before I heard of Dr. Seckin,…

Dr. Seckin and his staff spared me from years and years of heavy periods and unbearable endometriosis pain. After having surgery with him (my first) I can now function like a regular human. No more eating NSAIDs like candy and calling out sick from work. Thank you, Dr. Seckin!

I underwent surgery with Dr. Seckin in 2017 and have felt like a new woman ever since. If you have, or suspect you have endometriosis, Dr. Seckin and his compassionate team of surgeons and staff are a must-see.

I have struggled with endometriosis and adenomyosis since first starting my period at 13. I was diagnosed at 21 and what followed was a series of unsuccessful surgeries and treatments. My case was very aggressive and involved my urinary tract system and my intestines. After exhausting all of my local doctors I was lucky enough to find Dr. Seckin. We…

Like so many women who have tirelessly sought a correct diagnosis and proper, thorough medical treatment for endometriosis, I found myself 26 years into this unwanted journey without clear answers or help from four previous gynecological doctors and two emergency laparoscopic surgeries. I desperately wanted to avoid the ER again; a CT scan for appendicitis also revealed a likely endometrioma…
