Celebrities Came Out to Support Endometriosis Foundation of America’s 5th Annual Blossom Ball at Capitale in New York City on March 13th.
Foundation of America (EFA) hosted its 5th Annual Blossom Ball on Monday evening, March 13, at the Lower East Side’s Capitale. Founder Tamer Seckin, MD., along with co-founder, Padma Lakshmi welcomed a host of notable guests who came to support a wonderful cause.
“I am always so amazed and very gracious for all the support for the Blossom Ball each year,” said Dr. Seckin. “More than 176 million women around the world are affected by endometriosis
;a painful and debilitating disease . Since our founding, the EFA has made great strides towards its mission of raising awareness, providing education, and funding research.”
The red carpet affair, which is the EFA’s major fundraiser, featured a special guest musical performance by Grammy Award winning hip hop group, De La Soul. Honorary co-chairs for the evening, Susan Sarandon and Eileen Guggenheim, were joined on the red carpet by Lakshmi, Billy Crudup (Almost Famous, Too Big to Fai), Bridget Moynahan (Blue Bloods), Constance Jablonski, Dale Talde (Top Chef alum
), Daphne Rubin-Vega, Deborah Harry, Donna D'Cruz, Gail Simmons, Gary Clarke Jr., Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys, Batman Forever), Lizzie O’Leary (former CNN correspondent, endometriosis
spokesperson), Lizzie Tisch, Luke Wessman, Mari Malek , Matt Levine, Naeem & Ranjana Khan, Nichole Galicia (Django Unchained
), Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi, Patricia Velasquez, Pete Makebish, S. Epatha Merkerson, Stephen Schwarzman, and Vikram Chatwal. Grammy award-winning trio De La Soul performed with a surprise guest, Black Sheep’s Dres, and DJ Miles Guthrie Robbins spun for the crowd late night.
The evening included an elegant seated dinner, auction, music and dancing.
