My Conversations with Dr. Seckin about Endometriosis

Welcome: Let's Speak Up about Endometriosis

Welcome to Dr. Seckin's blog page. I'm very excited to help him offer it. I'm Annie and after years of suffering from painful endometriosis, Dr. Seckin surgically removed mine and I now know a better quality of life that only a short while ago I didn't believe would be possible again.

I've since had many wonderful conversations with the doctor and wondered if there was any way I could help other women discover the relief that I found after I received proper endometriosis diagnosis, care and treatment.

Well, . . . This is it! I'm a writer and writing this blog for Dr. Seckin will help spread the word about endometriosis, and offer hope to those who have the disease. I frequently have information-packed conversations with the doctor about all things endometriosis and will often try to share here what I'm learning.

From his decades of front-line experience as a laparoscopic surgeon and endometriosis specialist, Dr. Seckin knows that endometriosis is a painful and serious problem that has for the most part stayed silent -- out of public earshot. That must change, as the doctor's often said, and this blog is another way to add a voice to the growing chorus that seeks to reverse the terrible course of this devastating, yet highly treatable, disease from which many millions of United States women and adolescent girls needlessly (and too often silently) suffer.

Here you can expect to find endometriosis news and commentary, links to resources for more information, alerts about events and activities and more--all coming from my numerous conversations with Dr. Seckin, and all focused on the goal of raising public and medical community consciousness about endometriosis and early, proper, diagnosis, care and treatment for it.

Let's begin . . .

I am a physician who suffered from deep infiltrative endometriosis. I needed laparoscopic surgery, so I went to see my former gynaecologist and he performed the procedure (a surgery which he supposedly does hundreds of times a year) last November. I had severe pain again when I had my period in January and was advised to go on taking a…

After years of excessively painful periods, a serious loss of quality of life, and a series of uninformed and uninterested doctors, Dr. Seckin and Dr. Goldstein turned my life around. I was told I woke up from my surgery almost a year ago with a smile on my face, and I haven't stopped since. Before I heard of Dr. Seckin,…

Dr. Seckin and his staff spared me from years and years of heavy periods and unbearable endometriosis pain. After having surgery with him (my first) I can now function like a regular human. No more eating NSAIDs like candy and calling out sick from work. Thank you, Dr. Seckin!

I underwent surgery with Dr. Seckin in 2017 and have felt like a new woman ever since. If you have, or suspect you have endometriosis, Dr. Seckin and his compassionate team of surgeons and staff are a must-see.
