Warriors in Hospital Gowns

Endometriosis Questions

My body was fighting,
The brain had given up
It’s telling me something’s
Wrong, but the test results
Aren’t enough

“There’s no evidence to prove
Your pain.
What else do you want us to say?
We ran all the tests and you are clear,
Maybe it’s anxiety or too much fear”

But I am calm and something’s
Not right
Back and forth to doctors
And hospital nights
“Please don’t send me home,
There must be something you can do
I can’t live another day like this,
You can’t imagine what I’m going through

It hurts to walk it, it hurts to sit
Please tell me you’ll try to
At least look into it?”

The doctors never called me back…

I searched for someone out there
That would give my case a chance
I found a doctor in the city that
Wrote a book on endometriosis
He dedicated his life to help women
With this diagnosis
I had hope that this was my
last chance
As soon as I met Dr. Seckin
I knew my life
Was in good hands
A part of me was in disbelief
That I could be fixed

I felt like I was in someone else’s
Body for the past few years
Ever since my surgery I haven’t
Shed a single tear
The ibuprofen has been in the closet
And my heat bag is collecting dust
I can wear my favorite dress again
Without looking at myself with
Disgust

They saved my life…
No only physically but
Mentally
Don’t give up hope, the
Doctor will see
You now
